Trust Governance

Schools which join Spiral Partnership Trust as part of the Multi-Academy Trust arrangements will join a Trust which takes Governance very seriously.

The Board of Directors currently consists of 9 members and is selected to ensure an appropriate skill set for the Trust, providing a wide breadth of talent and expertise, which enables us to enhance the opportunities for our staff and pupils.

The core duties of the Board of Trustees and the Local School Committees are:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction

  2. Holding the Spiral Senior Leadership Team (SSLT) to account for the educational performance of the schools and their pupils

  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the Trust and its schools and making sure its money is well spent.

To achieve Spiral Partnership Trust’s objectives the Board of Directors are responsible for matters such as:

  • Policy development and strategic planning

  • Ensuring the sound management and administration of the academies

  • Ensuring that leaders are equipped with relevant skills and guidance

  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements

  • Assessing and managing risk

  • Maximising potential synergies across the Trust
