Details of current vacancies can be found in this section. We have a number of vacancies for Teachers, admin and support roles throughout our schools.

Training to be a Teacher with Spiral

We are now recruiting our 2019 cohort of trainees who will begin training in September 2019, qualify as teachers in June 2020 and be ready to teach their first class in  September 2020.  If you are interested in training to be a teacher find out more on our training and apprenticeship page.

 

We are particularly keen to recruit new teaching assistants who would like to train to be teachers at some time in the future.  If you have a degree, and would like to be a teacher, a teaching assistant job could be the first step towards your new career.

Year 1 Teacher - Part Time (Job Share)

Mount Pleasant Lane Primary School

 

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 teacher, with Early Years experience, looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference?

 

Mount Pleasant Lane Primary School is looking to improve outcomes for children through implementing an Early Year Foundation Stage approach to teaching and learning in Year 1.  We recognise that a smooth transition from Reception to Key Stage 1 is the key to creating confident, happy and successful learners and to this end these Key Stages work in close partnership.  We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, creative and caring Year 1 teacher, to work as part of a job share, to join our dedicated and talented team.

 

The successful candidate will be working alongside a team of experienced EYFS practitioners as well as the Key Stage 1 Leader, to develop an Early Years ethos in Year 1, whist still meeting the expectations of the National Curriculum. Early Years Practitioner 

Springmead Primary School

Springmead has a newly appointed leadership team who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable Early Years Practitioner who is excited by challenge and looking to help shape our provision.

 

We pride ourselves on being a caring and nurturing school that has high expectations and aspirations for all our children. The hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch.  The job will include covering lunch duties.  Salary is above the local authority rates with some flexibility in the working hours.  We would like the successful applicant to hold a Level 3 qualification.

Teaching Assistant

Fleetville Infant and Nursery School

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant in KS1 working 26.5 hours per week.

 

Our ideal candidates should be nurturing, ambitious and passionate about inspiring and supporting children to learn.

 

You will be part of a supportive, inspiring teaching team working with lively and enthusiastic children. We are keen to find a new member of staff who is as committed and ambitious as we are. 

 

The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting children’s learning across the curriculum and leading the whole class under the direction of the teacher for up to 3 hours per week.

Clerk to the Local School Committee

Spiral Partnership Trust

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Clerk to provide advice to the Local School Committee on governance, constitutional and procedural matters, consistent with the principles of Spiral Partnership Trust. Spiral Partnership Trust is a multi-academy trust of 6 primary schools.

 

The Clerk is required to provide an efficient support to the Local School Committee and any working parties or sub-committees, ensure that the Local School Committee is properly constituted and manage information effectively in accordance with legal requirements.

 

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Provide advice to the Local School Committee of at least one school (preferably 2 or more schools)
  • Effectively administer the meetings
  • Provide advice of the membership on the Local School Committee and maintain accurate records
  • Manage information required for the running of the Local School Committee

 

Knowledge of how schools and governing bodies operate would be an advantage along with previous experience of similar work.

Business Support Apprentice - Level 3 Advanced

 

 

We are looking for an Apprentice to become a key part of our Central Office Function of a Multi-academy Trust of six schools in Hertfordshire. You will report directly to the CFO and will assist them to run all finance and Human Resources aspects of the central office function. Your training at West Herts College will lead to an Advanced Apprenticeship in Business and Administration.

 

Job Description

 

To provide financial and administrative support for the central trust function including:

  • Recording all financial transactions using SAGE finance software.
  • Allocate VAT as appropriate.
  • Placing orders, processing invoices, checking to purchase orders and goods received notes, ensuring appropriate authorisation is in place.
  • Managing payments as necessary.
  • Process journal entries as necessary.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and resolve related issues, if required.
  • Undertake month end procedures as required.
  • To provide relief support and assistance for the Trust’s schools’ administrative and finance functions on an ad hoc or emergency basis as required.
  • Provide administrative support to the Trust’s Executive Head.
  • Provide support for the Trusts HR function.

 

The position will mainly be based at Fleetville Junior School, St Albans but the candidate may be required to work at other schools within the Trust in particular at Mandeville Primary School, St Albans.
